Vintage, retro, second-hand, design. All sorts of markets that sell the best vintage shoes, designer bags or second-hand garments pop up. If you have ever been to Camden market or Spittalfields in London, you know what I'm talking about and why you have to visit it!
Because these markets represent stands of shops that have gathered all sorts of funky, loveable, hip and fashionable musthaves and exhibit it all for you to drool over and to make you want to buy stuff. And the good news is, these markets are organised more often these days too! Almost every weekend you can find a hotspot where they sell cool stuff. Rotterdam has some new markets for you to check out as well! We mention some of them for you.
Lungo - New in the assortment of hip vintage and designer markets is Lungo with its Lungo's Leisure Market. On February 24 and 25 this coffee and lunch spot next to Rotterdam Central station opens its doors for the first time! Beware fashionistas and collectors of Rotterdam and surroundings! Swan market - In Rotterdam North in the Rotabs Style Center you can find the Swan Market every couple of weeks. A gathering of colorful stands and people that sell the coolest designer bags, organic food, art objects, girly jewelry or sturdy hats. New and vintage, design and affordable. Mode Marché - Want to score some fashion items and designer garments? The Mode Marché is a designer stock sample sale with stuff you have to have. All made by Dutch designers and in small editions, so you're just one of a few people wearing your new hip garment or item. It isn't cheap, but you get something high end for a reasonable price and by the newest generation of fashion designers. The next and 10th edition of this Dutch designer sample sale will be at 8 April in the Rotterdam theatre. www.mode-marche.com.
